Whether students have dreams of conquering Wall Street or working at a community bank, an undergraduate degree in finance can open up a variety of public and private sector business opportunities. U.S. News & World Report publishes an annual ranking of the best undergraduate finance programs based on surveys of senior business school faculty and business school deans from across the country. Three schools (the University of Pennsylvania, New York University, and the University of California at Berkeley) known for their overall academic strengths also emerge as attractive options for students interested in studying finance.

University of Pennsylvania

U.S. News & World report ranks the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School as the top business school in the country for those wanting to study finance. While all Wharton undergraduates earn a Bachelor of Science in Economics, finance is among twenty concentrations from which students may choose.

Wharton’s finance concentration consists of four courses, two of which are required (Corporate Finance and Monetary Economics and the Global Economy). Students may also choose from courses in International Banking, Investment Management, Real Estate Investment, and Urban Fiscal Policy, among other topics.
